|What We Believe|
STATEMENT OF FAITH
I. The name of this ministry shall be "Bible Study Outreach Ministries".
II. The purpose of this ministry and for which it was formed, is to bring others the Truth of the Good News, which is:
A. God is a Spirit; the creator, redeemer, preserver and ruler of all things; who has revealed Himself as a Trinity in unity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three persons yet but one God. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19, 1Cor. 8:16, Jo. 4:24).
B. The Bible, Old and New Testaments, is a divine revelation, the original authors of which were verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit. (2Tim. 3:16, 2Pet. 1:20). The Word of God is the church's final authority.
C. Jesus Christ, the eternal son of the living God, is the image of the invisible God, which is to say He Himself is the very God. He took upon Himself our nature, being concieved by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world. He arose from the dead in the body glorified, where He is now our interceding High Priest. He will come again personally to judge the quick and the dead. (Col. 1:15, Phil. 2:5-8, Matt. 1:18-25, 1Pe. 2:24-25, Lu. 24. Heb. 4:14-16, Act. 1:9-11, 1Thess. 4: 16-18, Matt. 25:31-46, Rev. 11:15-17, 20:4-6, 11-15).
D. Man was created in the image and likeness of God but fell into sin and, in that sense, is lost. This is true of all men and except a man repent and be born again he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who of His own self bare our sins in His body on the tree. The retribution of the wicked and unbelieving, and the reward of the righteous are everlasting. As the reward is conscious, so is the retribution. The righteous in Christ Jesus will enter into life eternal, and the wicked into eternal damnation by way of the lake of fire. (Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 3:10, Jo. 3:3, Act. 13:38-39, 4:12, Jo. 3:16, Matt. 25:46, 2Cor. 5:1, 2Thess. 1:7-9).
E. The church is saved by grace through faith, baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. It's mission is to witness concerning it's head, Jesus Christ, and to preach the Gospel to all nations. It will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air when He appears to set up His kingdom. (Act. 2:41, Eph. 1:3-6, 1Cor. 12:12-13, Matt. 28:19-20, Act. 1:6-8, 1Thess. 4:16-18).
F. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of His gifts (1Cor. 12).
G. The divine ordinances of water baptism (submergence) and communion.
H. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one naturally-born man and onenaturally-born woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, transsexual, transgender, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery or appearance. (Gen. 2:24; 19:5,13; 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 1Thess. 4:1-8' Heb. 13:4)
I. Sexual immorality, homosexuality, and same sex marriage is a violation of the faith of the church and will be a reason for not retaining or for terminating a staff/volunteer member, for refusing church membership, and for church discipline of members who fall into sexual immorality.
J. We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one naturally-born man and one naturally-born woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23)
In order to bring the truth of the Good News to others, Bible Study Outreach Ministries will seek to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10) via Bible Studies, Christian based 12Step programs, feeding and clothing programs, and any other methods ordained of God and His Word.
